@jacoporegini8841 east germany lacked the funding and production capabilities compared to it's western part, and the country was split by foreign powers, which people in the region not happy about. donbas have the financial supports of russia, have many factories and farmlands, and the region was controlled and split by separatist and people who wants secession from ukrane. remember how destroyed Chechnya was? have you seen how it is now after russian economic funding for it's rebuild? it's not going to be the same.
