So long as the British empire(including Canada, Australia and a few other countries) is part of the '5 eyes' intelligence network, and if they can successfully supplant German manufacturing(a tall order I know), they should be fine. And the US can always supply them with coal, LNG and oil(along with the Norwegians and some other countries) they should be just fine. They may have to transition to a Canada style immigration system eventually, but for now they simply have to keep attracting more people from HK.
