  6. The Dem base is primarily urban now. The L.A. and NYC metropolitan areas in America account for about 9.8% of all American voters/population. The top 25 metropolitan areas account for about 34 - 36% of the total population, etc.. The Dems will cater to their constituencies pure and simple.
