  1. I can't recall seeing such a severe divide or degree of hatred in our country. If the senators had been charged I would really be concerned about our future. I know the Dems want flesh but I wonder where all this would lead. It's reminiscent of 1858 somehow. - I always enjoyed studying History.

  2. That had to do with slavery and the former confederacy. That's the irony of this. It's a stretch, it's a vindictive literal use of the wording of a statute/Amendment. Maybe that's why it's reminiscent of the era of Lincoln.

  3. I heard/read JFK's father influenced Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago to play with the ballots which swung the election from Richard Nixon in 1960. I also read John Quincy had to run out the back door of the WH once Andy Jackson finally won. Jackson always felt the Adams' stole his election
