It could get better. Since the Dems wanted impeachment, they got their wish. The House passed the impeachment rules. It is now up to the Senate to act as jury. According to the article on NPR today, this might screw every senators' campaigns. Attendance for impeachment hearings is mandatory. Their campaigns will effectively come to a halt. This situation will favor Biden, Buttigeig, Yang, Gabbard, Steyer, and Williamson as well as Trump. I have no doubt Trump realizes this. If he were as much of a troll as people make him out to be, he would drag out impeachment as long as possible.

It could turn to a Bernie and Yang. Both candidates are very cordial to each other. Yang even stated some of Bernie's ideas became his inspiration.
