This means they made more from expansion of 4-5% than same store sales. The good performing stores at 10% were INTERNATIONAL stores, not the franchisee US stores. They held expenses constant resulting in an $8b after tax profit. $14b is EBITDA. McD is also spending $2.5 b in capital expenditures so they are not simply sitting on the cash. In this case Jeremy does sound like a communist.
