  1.  @TheOneWhoGnocchs  Refineries have to be set up to accept the different grades of oil. It can not make the switch overnight. Refineries in the Gulf Coast accepts the sour crude from the Canadian Tar sands or any equivalent. The Texas sweet light crude is exported. Whatever grade of oil that Venezuela produces can really only go to a few places so competition is negligible.

The irony is Venezuela still sits on trillions of barrels of oil that it can not tap because they kicked out all of the foreign companies with the expertise and neglected its existing oil infrastructure. Going to war for more oil is ascinine. The only purpose I see is to use war as a distraction for Maduro's incompetent leadership for national pride and unity.
