  4. That was why they wrote in the 2nd Amendment. They expected the local communities to take care of themselves. The rest of the Constitution states that the federal government can call upon the militia (ie the armed citizens) to assist with dealing with threats. It was not just discouraging tyrannical government, it is the ability to protect the community. It is amazing how liberals want to disarm the people from having the means to take care of ourselves.

The last time an Oakland resident fought back against a criminal, the police chief ordered his detectives to arrest the storeowner because he used his gun to shoot at a criminal trying to kidnap a woman in front of his store.
