  1. Rafe mentions Oldham and Rochdale, towns next to each other, I live in Bolton and undoubtedly there is ‘preferential treatment’ here. This scandalous situation is a complete denigration of civilisation. Amy has made crystal clear the total failings of all concerned and Rafe - well!! I completely agree that ALL concerned in ‘hiding’ this abhorrent situation should be publicly vilified, sacked and lose ALL benefits and pensions; if needed, sent to prison as well. Not totally irrelevant; I regularly watch Edgar Lustgarten introducing old ‘Scotland Yard’ programmes on TV. He usually concludes an interesting story with the words “and Joe Bloggs was found guilty and suffered the punishment prescribed by law”. I always shout out loud (I live alone, but would still shout even if in a crowd) “and vile criminals should still ‘suffer’ the same punishment”.
