  1. Harrison and Evan, as usual, raise several valuable points that, from my standpoint as a well educated postwar child, have some merit. I say that, not as a form of boasting, but to position my current stance as similar to that of Samuel’s online ‘journal’, the Mallard. I had a quick glance at the Mallard (I’d never heard of it before this discussion) and, in my opinion, see in it certain elements that give one hope. It’s certainly not a panacea for our current ills, but open - free!! - discussion is one way to enlighten the mind. The Mallard has the aim to be, as one of its objectives, a place for the ‘politically homeless’. This is commendable, but I believe that, unless us free thinking people espouse and act upon our common beliefs (a kind of political paradox in that we AREN’T ‘politically homeless’) we are doomed to the destruction of the greatest place of intellect on earth. 👍🇬🇧👍🇮🇱👍🇬🇧👍🇮🇱👍🇬🇧👍
