  1. The reason we don't do that anymore is Echo was only usable with powerful transmitters. Instead of a Starlink pizza box, you'd need a giant dish antenna in your garden. Echo used 26-meter antennas. and Echo had severely limited capacity: transmissions would interfere with each other, while Starlink can separate its transmissions into beams.
