The ancient Greeks proved that Earth is a sphere, using nothing more than naked-eye observations. Since 500 BC, nobody has presented any evidence that shows Earth is anything other than an oblate spheroid. Your blithe dismissal of 2500 years of evidence does not change that. Denying evidence is pointless: YOU have to PROVE that all of the evidence is incorrect. You won't be able to do that: minds far brighter than yours have tried and failed. Anyone can use a camera on a tripod and a ruler to measure a section of Earth's surface: Find a section of flat ground. 1. place the camera on the tripod. 2. Place the ruler upright on the ground, 20 meters in front of the camera 3. Look through the camera at the ruler, and read the height using a fixed feature (crosshairs, something like that) in the camera lens. 4. Move the ruler 100 meters and do it again. 5. Repeat until you're at a distance of 1 km. You will find that the ground curves: the heights you measured show Earth's curvature.

@TheRealNewWhirledOrder I've already given you one method anyone can use to prove that Earth's surface is curved, not flat. A few more: 1. the way a ship is obscured from the bottom up when it goes over the horizon proves that there is a physical obstacle between the observer and the ship. This obstacle is Earth's curvature. 2. The way the elevation angle of the stars changes with latitude allows you to measure Earth's diameter. Eratosthenes was the first to realize this in 250 BC. 2. Photos from high altitude show Earth's curvature directly. Again, this has been done countless times. 3. Photos from space show that Earth is an oblate sphere. Millions such photos exist. All of these are *proof*. Nobody has ever been able to debunk any of these methods. So, yes, the burden of proof is on you. We have presented our evidence, 2500 years of it. You have not presented ANY evidence for your claims, so we are free to summarily dismiss them as fantasy.

@TheRealNewWhirledOrder Several posts in this thread have given you evidence that Earth is a sphere that rotates on its axis. This includes experiments you can repeat yourself. Your 10 ridiculous synonyms don't change that. Nothing you said changes the reality of this evidence. In 2500 years, nobody has presented any evidence that shows Earth is any shape other than an oblate sphere.

@TheRealNewWhirledOrder Surface tension is a force that shapes water. This proves water is subject to forces acting on it. Gravity is another force acting on everything around us, including water. When I place a bucket on a scale and fill it with water, its weight increases. This is gravity at work.
