  2. you kids, a 600k army doesnt walk in a single column, there were tens of different units, garrisons left on the way etc, it's not true that 540.000 died lol

  3.  @54blewis  Plus I think 50% of the army was killed, staved, died of illnesses or was sent in the various conquered zones as garrison even BEFORE winter and BEFORE reaching moscow. The idea that 400.000 dudes died of cold is ludicrous, it was a months-long process, not as most people think. There's a nice old map / graphic from Minard that shows how even before getting to smolenks, the 400k army was divided in columns (come went north, some south)) and many died in the contant fighting, so, even then there were less than 200k soldiers. And at moscow proper, i think that there were only 100k soldiers. So saying 400k died retreating from moscow is ludicrous.
