Turkey is in war in North Syria. And base Cyprus.
2
They should leave Nato, they have no fear of being invaded by Russia... like Portugal....
2
Make Britain Great again?
2
@roseandsword. Luxemburg is on the front line of potential Russian invasion....
1
Europe doesn't need to go bankrupt financing USA's wars like Iraq, Afghanistan, or promises like defending Taiwan from China while holding over 800 bases worldwide...
1
Only democracy when the result was in Nato faveure.
1
Don't see why Europe has to support USA in it's promise to defend Taiwan against potential Chinese invasion. Or USA's colonial aspirations like Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Vietnam....
1
Nato is created to destroy russia. USA would never leave.
1
LOL? SO someone from Spain should hypothetically fight Russia in Poland in some theoretical conflict?? Yeah good luck getting soldiers for that.
1
riding along USA in it's Afghanistan adventure....
1
Ahum. Afganistan, Iraq, Syria.... Come on dude... Learn your history. Also; USA involvement in WW1 and 2 in Europe was purely out of self interest in fear of communist takeover. The race to get to berlin. Same in the pacific in WW2: The war in Europe was over and Russia could redirect it's troops in Europe to the pacific, and the USA did not want to divide the pacific like Europe was.
1
NATO. So is Canada....
1
Agreed, but: Only EU countries bordering Russia might be under threat, the rest isn't, it is not like Russia is going to invade Portugal... So why would said country supply soldiers to defend say.... Finland?
1
A common EU Army that helps say for example Turkey in Northern Syria in i ts fight against the Kurds?
1
USA has a tendency to invade other countries...
1
USA is spending it in success stories and examples like Afghanistan, Iraq....
1
Your country is ?
1
Europe is the US arm manufactory biggest customer yes because the war. As soon as the Russian Ukraine war is over, it halts. So is it USA interest to stop that war?
1
USA wants EU to start making stockpile of weapons beacuse usa wants to defend Taiwan.
1
Iraq, Afghanistan....
1
@mementomori7825 Taliban in Afghanistan do....
1
Pfft, owe, for what? And when is that burden paid off, or is it eternal?
1
Freeloading? What was Europe doing in Afghanistan? Or in Iraq?
1
This. That is why USA now wants those countries to start making these in order to keep USA's promise to defend Taiwan against potential Chinese invasion...
1
They don;t aspire invasions like the USA is doing over and over again...
1
@ElizaaGirl LOL. So someone from Spain has to be fighting in for example Ukraine? Or say in a future russo polish war?
1
@AnotherPointOfView944 The UK likes to follow the USA on it's invasions...
1
To build up arms stockpiles to support USA in its promise to support Taiwan from China....
1
we?
1
@3bostonboys What country will you invade as "service" or duty?
1
@3bostonboys Meh, USA best on it's own in it's foreign adventures.
1
Yes. That is why USA wants nato to spend more: Build up arms because USA wants to defend Taiwan.... So it needs EU stockpile, you can see how fast the current one is depleting...
1
How much has USA spend on offence since 1990?
1
Last sentence: Afghanistan. Was quite the succes, nah? Costs were marginal...
1
Italy and Spain are geographically far from Russia, so meh, why spend money, enough debt in those countries already.
1
Imagine Chinese carriers there, like NATO is doing in straight of Taiwan.... Add a few Chinese carriers in the British channel....
1
Everything East of Germany is Eastern Europe. What would you call Slovenia but Central European? Estonia, Lithuania is Eastern Europe...
1
Sweden saved 40+ years of 2% gdp on NATO.
1
How's Nato member Turkey doing over there?
1
@ How is NATO member Turkey doing on Cyprus? Are they spending enough? Should they upgrade it's military there?
1
@NothingPersonalKido LOL. What argument; USA invading Greenland... Nato invading nato country....
1
@l23722 Portugal was on the leash of usa to join nato, because the Azores islands, those are crucial in air traffic from usa to europe.
1
Finland needs to, Finland joined NATO Agreement's n such.... Finland has spend for years money on ITS OWN army. Now you beg to join NATO, pay up.
1
As an European reading your comment I can conclude that the USA was victorious in Afghanistan?
1
@WhyCry101 Again, stop with the you. Those were a few countries that divided those borders, and don't forget those countries like Turkey, Syria, the newly created Saudi Arabia... as said before by other user: That was Britain and France. What does Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Austria + many others have to do with the middle east? Europe isn't a monolith.
1
@WhyCry101 2 Countries is not Europe buddy....
1
Afghanistan...
1
Are they not?
1
Ahum.... Afganistan, Iraq, Syria....
1
Sweden who spend it on ITS OWN military. Now it has to fund the war in Ukraine.
1
Baltics receive loads of EU money every year. Easy spending.
1
So how does that benefit NATO member Austria?
1
In addition Europe will not join the USA on it's inevitable next foreign country invasion.... Or in aiding Taiwan in case of a Chinese invasion. Good luck there.
1
@chickenfishhybrid44 Deal, also Europe leaves USA on it's own in future endeavors like defending Taiwan and the inevitable invasion of some country like USA did in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and so forth...
1
Pfft, defense of Europe... Begging Europe for support in it's next invasion like Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria....?
1
USA wants EU to increase spending because USA supports Taiwan against China, so USA needs EU to start making weapons....
1
How's Afghanistan these day's?
1
@ Oh? Your last sentence was? USA focus on own interest? Not potential enemy?
1
