As of January 2023, India was estimated to have a growing stockpile of 164 nuclear weapons, a small increase from the previous year's count of 160. So yes it is.

Getting nuked or bombed to smithereens (conventional) is also stupidly expensive. Look at Syria/Iraq, Vietnam....

Subic Bay and Clark Air Field?

Nuclear powerplants? Nuclear smoke alarms? Nuclear radiation therapy against cancer?
1
@fahadhussain4537 Oh.

Last year: 160 nukes. 2023 164 Nukes. Buildup.

@murasame1008 No your argument is valid. Pfft...

@hydra70 They dont want to be part of treaty. But okay: Nitpicking: U.S. Withdraws From Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty Aug. 2, 2019 Both the Senate and the Duma approved START II, but the treaty did not take effect because the Senate did not ratify the 1997 protocol and several ABM Treaty amendments, whose passage the Duma established as a condition for START II’s entry into force. START II was effectively shelved as a result of the 2002 U.S. withdrawal from the ABM treaty. That is 2.

@hydra70 It came from the news, I dont made it up.

@hydra70 INF nuclear treaty: US pulls out of Cold War-era pact with Russia 2 August 2019 BBC But whatever dude
1
@hydra70 I'm not the one making claims about pulling out treaty's, but whatever, you can look that up also: USA Does not want to give up nukes. from wiki: On 14 April 2000, the Russian Duma finally ratified the treaty with some conditions. Specifically, these conditions were that the US would continue to uphold the ABM Treaty,[2] and that the US Senate would ratify a September 1997 addendum to START II that included agreed statements on the demarcation of strategic and tactical missile defenses. The US Senate never ratified the addendum, as a faction of Republicans led by Jesse Helms opposed any limits on American anti-ballistic missile systems.[3] As a result, START II never entered into force.

@hydra70 Whatever, you go and interpret whatever. This discussion is nonsense anyway.

Your caps lock seems to be stuck.

Because that map is nonsense: There are American Nukes at Volkel airbase, which is a target because of that.

As of January 2023, India was estimated to have a growing stockpile of 164 nuclear weapons, a small increase from the previous year's count of 160. (The hindu) India continues to modernise its nuclear arsenal and operatiations .. (times of India) India’s nuke arsenal to get boost with ‘Agni Prime’ missile (Hindustan times) So.. yes India continuing nuclear buildup.

Without the bombs Russia would have invaded Japan (The troops were moved from Europa already.) USA did not want this, because then it had to share Japan with Russia. Or let Russia lay it's terms on the surrender. USA did it out of own interest. The whole "otherwise we had to invade etc." is just war propaganda nonsense.

World peace is an illusion.

Guess why North Korea has em. Otherwise not safe from the USA. Same for Israel: Otherwise not safe from Arab countries.

Western hegemony? That is a bit colonial, nah?

Also, nukes can be used tactical. People always assume that the entire stock will be launched. As if a tactical nuke on say the current Ukrainian battlefield would have influence in say las Vegas. Where in the previous decade, dozens of nukes were detonated.....
1
@davidford3115 Not all tactical nukes are artillery shells, They are just low yield nukes that can be airdropped for example from a fighter jet. That is why Europe was pushed to buy the USA F35: That one can carry (tactical) nukes. B61 0,3 and 50 kilotons; B61,W76-2: moved to Europe. The move, which involves replacing older weapons with the newer version at various storage facilities in Europe for potential use by U.S. and allied bombers and fighter jets, comes amid heightened tensions over Russia’s threats to use a nuclear weapon in Ukraine and growing concerns that the West needs to do more to deter Moscow from crossing that line. 10/26/2022 Politico

Just look away and talk about pressing issues like trans rights....

The sun is up.

China does not want the USA meddling in Taiwan. The only deterrence is nukes. If China has say 10 nukes, the risk of USA destroying those in a conflict with Taiwan would be far greater then if China has 1500. It is the USA who is to blame in this. The should stop acting as global police. Ask Vietnam. Syria. Afghanistan. Iraq... etc.

@eklavyajain09 Regardless. Your claim is invalid.
