‘In fact, it is not possible to determine the exact evolutionary stage, because surface conditions hardly change in the late stage close to the carbon exhaustion and beyond,’ the researchers write. Astronomers can only see the surface, but it’s what’s happening deep inside the star that tells the tale.
The authors of the paper are really saying that according to observations, data, and modelling, Betelgeuse could explode sooner than thought. But – and this is critical – they don’t know what stage of core carbon-burning the star’s in. Carbon burning could go on for a long time, according to some of the models that fit the data.
So, basically, we’re back to square one. Betelgeuse might explode tomorrow. It might explode in “tens of years.” Or it might explode in a thousand years.

I'm still amazed that they left all those tanks out there to rot for soo long, and as you said: no maintenance.
Imagine them after being build and put into a hanger/shed/warehouse, whatever. And have at least some maintenance, or I don't know, plastics coverings around some parts and whatnot, how they would perform now.
Build expensive equipment, let it rot, tell leaders, we have x many vehicles.

Get 1 of those tanks in the field, then after 1 km driving (if it works) all of a sudden the steering does not work anymore....

It is not conscious, it is inanimate.
The only reason some people have the misconception, that a photon changes if watched, is that some people did not understand the physics, and, double slit experiment, for example.
This lead to applying lay understandings of the term “observer”, which in the experiment, does NOT mean “someone watching”, as it refers, instead, to a frame of reference, not observation by an entity…
…and misunderstanding the wave particle duality term.
A particle, in physics, is not like a grain of sand or small solid object…its an excitation in a wave.
So, at no point in the experiment did “being observed” change anything.
And, light is both a wave and a particle, all the time…it is NOT changing from one to the other.
So, it doesn’t matter if any one is watching, and, light is not changing from a particle to a wave, depending upon anything, because it doesn't change.
If you MEASURE it for interference, you get interference…because its a wave.
If you MEASURE it as a particle, you get a particle…because its a particle.
If you let the particle detection run longer, the dots form the interference pattern.
So. the “consciousness” confusion about light, stems from misunderstanding physics….and, misunderstanding the dual slit experiment, in particular…accounts for almost all of that.

The PMN-4 is a delay-armed, pressure-fired blast-mine. The pressure-plate is black and the body is reddish-brown or khaki. The black rubber pressure-plate has a plastic pressure "spider" concealed underneath, shaped like flower-petals. The diameter of the mine is 95mm and the height is 46mm. The explosive charge weight is 55 grams. This comprises 52 grams of 'TG-40' (a 40/60 TNT/RDX mixture) plus a 3 gram pentolite booster. The total weight of the mine is 300 grams. PMN-4 mines contain a significant amount of metal components, so they are readily detectable with a mine detector. Details of the fuze mechanism are scarce, though given that the PMN-4 was designed during the early 1980s, it is logical to assume that the fuze is more sophisticated and/or reliable than the fuze in the PMN-2 (a mid-1970s design) to compensate for having a smaller explosive filling with significantly reduced destructive power. Similarly, the PMN-4 is almost certainly a blast resistant mine due to the design of the flower-shaped pressure "spider" under the pressure-plate. It is considered extremely dangerous to disarm PMN mines by removing the fuze, unless they have only recently been laid and are in good condition. Even if this is the case, what appears to be a standard PMN-1 mine may in fact be the PMN-3 or MS-3 versions, which feature an integral anti-handling device which is specifically designed to kill deminers. In any case it is very easy to boobytrap a standard PMN mine by attaching a pull-fuze to it, or by placing an ML-7 pressure-release antihandling device underneath. Therefore, the standard render-safe procedure for PMN mines is to destroy them in situ using a small explosive charge.

The Russian army is fighting in the center of Kurakhovo. This was announced today, November 15, by the adviser to the head of the DPR, Yan Gagin, on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.
"Our battle formations are already in the center of the city itself, Kurakhovo is almost surrounded — only a few kilometers, about five to six kilometers, remain before the complete encirclement," Gagin said.
Gagin stressed that although there are fierce battles, Russian troops control almost half of the city's territory.
Kurakhovo is located 46 kilometers from Donetsk and 30 kilometers south of Krasnoarmeysk. This is the largest settlement in the southwestern part of Donbass, which remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the liberation of Ugledar by Russian troops. The capture of Kurakhovo will allow us to move further to the west.

I'm also wondering what will happen to the stability of the missile when it hits the membrane at mach 7... Also, if the membrane rips, and say like scarf around your neck in a storm, catches the missile.... Also, if the inner doors work soo well to keep the vacuum, why don't they use one of those doors, but use a membrane there....?
About the membrane pushed outwards and not inwards as one might think (I have no idea but: ), maybe the sheer force/ speed of the projectile punching trough it causes the outwards folding?
Furthermore, they said on the realengineering video, that they would use some counterweight on the swingarm that is released to counter the imbalance of the projectile. Well. Imagine smashing a 10.000 kg into the wall of your vacuum chamber at mach 7, there will be dust. And you have to remove the debris. And asses damage. Interesting, on 5 launches per day...
To counter that they claim in the future to launch 2 missiles slightly after each other. One on each side of the swingarm. Would that be possible to get 10.000 G in a 180 degree without a counterweight? Would it also require a different release mechanism, for the initial projectile has a counterweight ,so less stress on not just the swingarm but also on the release device (the release of the 1st projectile will push the 2nd one more outwards like a plane going up after dropping a bomb but way faster) ?

Thanks on your reply. I agree that time itself has no meaning without any physical dimensions, because nothing would be there to "go into entropy", so imagine;
Space is expanding, cosmic inflation n such, there must be some point, for example a cube sized piece of space be it 1 millimeter or 1 meter squared, in the universe where there are no atoms and is a vacuum, inside this point (box) there would be no time? But then, us here, should we observe that point, surely time passes during that observation, so why would time exists here and not in that box?
Should there be say 1 uranium atom in that box, it would have decayed if there was time in that box. Maybe time can be switched on or off depending on amount of physical dimensions (stuff like particles) in the vicinity. It would explain time travel near massive black holes. And photons, because they travel soo fast, there is not much physical dimensions around them, so time slows/stops: hence they can "live" forever as long as they dont get close to anything with physical dimensions. Like my sunglasses. When they hit those, they are close to things so time will start hence entropy and decay.
But that is just me blabbering on a comment...that hardly anyone will read. Should I get rewarded a Nobel Price / A Noble Price, I will thank you and Sabine.
