  2. I stopped using the TTC regularly when the Adult Fare rose above $3 it is now $3.35. There are Burger deals at McDonalds and Wendyโ€™s or on their mobile apps that are cheaper and faster to get than riding the TTC. Also Presto cards cost $7 before you even upload any fare credit.๐Ÿ˜‚

  5. Apparently more than 51% of Canadian restaurants are losing money since the pandemic began many also still have to pay back their Pandemic CEBA loans soon. I donโ€™t think that stat applies to fast food restaurants. I see McDonalds and Tim Hortons locations packed most of the day both in Downtown Toronto where I work and near my house in Scarborough. A lot of these fast food places are now also earning sales via the Apps like Doordash, Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes in addition to their high dine-in, walk-in takeout and drive thru sales.

Former PM Brian Mulroney just passed away and he is notable for leading two failed constitutional amendment referendums the Meech Lake & Charlottetown accords. Looks to me like the stars are aligning for a Trudeau comeback. He could campaign on a referendum question in the scheduled 2025 election if Canada like France should also enshrine a womanโ€™s right to an abortion in the Canadian constitution. Such a scenario generates the enthusiasm and voter turnout Trudeau needs to win the next election.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ If Poilievre campaigns that he too will enshrine womanโ€™s access to an abortion in the constitution he will lose/depress the support he has with pro-life voters.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  10. lol you make no sense. The point of this tax change is to bring it closer to parity the income taxed on workers and those taxed on investments. Why should a Nurse or Carpenter pay income tax on every dollar while a Real Estate investor or a stockbroker or even a Doctor only be taxed on 50% of their income if they are solely making it through a Capital Gain? The Capital Gains inclusion Tax rate was at 75% under Mulroney Conservatives. It was actually the Chrรฉtien Liberals who reduced it to 50% before the 08-09 financial crisis and the pandemic where that investment loophole was being abused now Trudeau is fixing it. And he is going to use the increased revenues generated to pay for programs that reduce income inequality like affordable housing, childcare, pharmacare, dental care and etc.

  11. Somebody canvassed my house last year for Sick Kids wearing the shirt, a sick kids landyard and carrying a tablet. I gave him a lecture about how my mortgage payments increased and I am only in my 30s and am definitely behind on saving for my retirement.   15. Metro is an upper class grocery chain like Loblaws. If they increase wages and benefits then try to pass the cost down to customers many people will cease shopping there. I see an expansion of self-checkout services and Metro closing locations in the suburbs in low and middle income areas like the Bridlewood mall, Kennedy Commons and Parkway Mall locations. They likely will keep stores open in higher income areas like Bayview and College Park.

SNAP cards can be used at grocery stores with pre-loaded funds to buy food and can act as passes to use physical food banks to get donated food for free.   23. This place was shutdown for like 2 full years for extensive renovation for the new bar & restaurant. I was there while it was closed. There were weeds and stuff growing on the patio and in the parking lot. I once parked there at night to make a phone call and saw a coyote lurking when I honked my horn it still didn't run away so I drove away. It is a real shame most people are not going to eat/drink at this place knowing a mass shooting took place and the floors, walls and tables were smeared with blood and bullet holes. It also has tons of competition with Swiss Chalet, Milestones, Scadderbush, Moxy's & Jack Astor's across the street. A nearby Boston Pizza closed because of a recent fire.

  24. When they say the ticket was won in Toronto they actually mean Downtown Toronto. They say tickets won in Scarborough, Etobicoke,North York, East York all the time. It is confusing because all those areas are part of the actual City of Toronto. For all we know the ticket was won by a commuter who bought it at a ticket kiosk from a GO station or driver who bought it at a gas station in the City of Toronto even though they actually live as far away as Kitchener or Barrie.๐Ÿ˜‚

  38. The TTC is unsafe and the fares are too high. The fares are not even integrated with GO Transit, UP Express and other GTHA transit systems. It is too expensive for a lower middle class person or even a post-secondary student to commute to Downtown Toronto on Public Transit. Forget Driving with the cost of gas, insurance and parking.

Mitzie was a cabinet Minister under Wynne who vetoed Tory's plan to toll the Gardiner and DVP ignoring the will of Council who supported the plan. Saunders was a Special Adviser to Doug Ford on the redevelopment of Ontario Place clearly rubber stamping the plan to approve construction of a private spa on public lands and relocate the Science Centre to a newer and samller building next to the Spa.

  40. The Feds under Trudeau give Toronto $1.65B/year in various Federal grants and Federal Transfer payments. The Feds under Harper only gave $250m/year. That is a huge disparity that both Mayor Chow and Toronto Budget Chief Shelly Carroll confirm is true on camera. If Poilievre becomes PM it is inevitable he will make huge Federal funding cuts to Toronto that rival or exceed that of Former Ontario Premier Mike Harrisโ€™ provincial funding cuts. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ This funding disparity is why Toronto voted Liberal the last 3 Federal elections. Poilievre held a press conference infront of city hall after John Tory resigned and By-election was called telling people not to vote for Chow (implying it over mentioning her by name). Toronto went ahead and still voted Chow that is why Pierre doesnโ€™t even bother campaigning much in Toronto he only comes to this city to fundraise money from wealthy Conservative Donors or to do scripted interviews with right wing National Post and the Toronto Sun.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
