The biggest problem with the civil war has absolutely nothing to do with slavery and everything to do with federal power superseding the states powers;hence, changing the form of our government from a republic to a democracy. Democracy suppresses the voice of the poor and small Republics allow the voice of the small and poor - that’s supposed to be the point - all voices matter, whether you own 1 acre or a small lot - not the majority. The confederate flag has NOTHING to do with the color of someone’s skin and everything to do with the power of the states and the constitution of the REPUBLIC. Hope that helps you understand better but please get off the propaganda machine and educate yourself on actual history.

  8. The problem with the today’s society is that everyone looks at things from their own perspective. 1. I support gay marriage but I don’t agree with it. They should have to pay taxes like the rest of us. If they are a family, it isn’t the governments place to tax differently. 2. Today’s kid (late teen, early 20s) are a different breed because they’ve been indoctrinated beyond belief. Now, it is coming back around as parents are beginning to wake up and actually educate their children. We were indoctrinated to allow our children to be indoctrinated. 3. We assume because it is this way today that’s the way that is normal or the way it’s always been. Most all these assumptions are wrong. We have to put ourselves outside of ourselves when looking at history even our own.

However, so far, republicans have been closer to American values and they’ve NOT done the detriment to our country that the dems have been. I mean, the last 4 years makes those facts undeniable. We have to pay attention and call them on their crap in the very least!! They can only get away with what we allow them. However, there’s been clearly defined boundaries the democrats have crossed.
