and you find there Ukraine and Moscovities. „Russia“, that name was stolen by Russia centuries after Moscovities principally was founded in 14th century.
Kyiv city was founded in 5th century and started Slavic empire in 882 (ruthenia or Rus) with capital Kyiv. In 988 Vladimir I in Kyiv brought Orthodox Church to Slavic area.
Tell me the name of capital city of Russia in 988! 😉
Kyiv with cathedral and monastery - and no Moscow or St. Petersburg in that time. Only wet grass…..

There is a Russian stamp from 1954 about cooperation and partnership of Ukraine and Russia in military union contract from 1654.

History in short steps:
in 9th century Scandinavian Viking princes went to Slavic area. In Novgorod for a short moment to start a trading place, then they moved soon later to Kyiv and were asked to start and to rule an empire. Ruthenia. Rus. Kyiv Rus. (Later called Ukraine).
In 10th and 11th century a powerful first Slavic empire in Kyiv. Brought Orthodox Church from Greek to slavics.
(Kherson melitopol … are Greek names).
In 13th century Mongolian came and Ukraine found security in Lithuania-polish commonwealth.
Region of later city Moscow was occupied by Mongolia. After they left, in 14th century Moscow started principally Moscovity. Nobody called it russia in that time.
In 17th century Moscovities stole the name of Rus (YouTube video „theft of millennia“ with dozens of old maps and coins and documents).
In 1654 the partnership contract of Ukraine and Moscovities because polish Catholic Church oppressed Cossacks of Ukraine and the liberation war of Cossacks with partners Tatars from Crimea was not successful.
In 1783 first time Russia occupied Ukraine and Crimea.
For 130 years Russian oppression and russiphication against Ukrainian culture and language.
1917: WW1. Russia lost. In peace contract Brest-Litovsk the western empires forced russia (Tsar Romanov was killed) to let free a lot of Russian colonies like Finland Poland Lithuania Latvia Estonia Ukraine including Crimea, Armenia Belarus Kasachstan Georgia………..).
All these countries started again as independent countries. There was no Poland or Finland or Belarus in 1905!!!
Ukraine was occupied for 130 years: 1783-1917. Like Finland. Poland.

In 1917 Ukraine incl. Crimea (!) again independent. But soon Russia started war and occupation again. In 1918 Ukrainian army could liberate Poltova, Kharkiv, Melitopol, Crimea from Russian occupants. But… soon again Russian occupation and finally Ukraine was forced into Soviet Union 1922-1991.
Crimea was also autonom republic in Soviet Union.
In 1944 Stalin deported all Tatars again to sibiria. Hundred thousands of them. Crimea now part of Russian republic inside Soviet Union, but 10 years later given back to Ukraine in 1954.
Remember the stamp? 1654-1954? As remember to history of partnership of Russia and Ukraine.
Crimea in reality the land of Tatars and never part of Rus or Moscovities or Russia before occupation 1783, but Partner of Cossacks in 17th century against polish kingdom.
In 1991 Soviet Union ended and in official correct referendum 92,3% of all Ukraine voted for independence from Russia, in Donbas 87% and on Crimea 57% „yes“.

Russia accepted independence from all republics like Estonia Latvia Belarus Georgia Ukraine (incl. Crimea), Kasachstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijani and Armenia. GUS contract. Friendship trading contract and contract about to rent Sevastopol and also the Budapest memorandum about Ukrainian nukes… later also in Minsk agreement and UN resolution No. 2202 Russia accepted independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
1945: Ukraine founding member state of United Nations!
2013: majority of population in Donbas 59% Ukrainian ethnic nationality, 39% Russian;
on Crimea 25% Ukrainian and 25% Tatars and 50% Russian ethnic nationality.
27th of February 2014 Russian invasion. Nothing happened before in Donbas or on Crimea. Violent coup of Russian troops and criminal annexation (not recognised from UN or any country of the world, only by Syria…)…
550.000 Tatars and Ukrainian had to flee (again) from Crimea to mainland.
