  1. My comment to Mr. Shellenbergers ideas about education. The problem with his ideas on education is the teacher to student ratio is bad everywhere in the US. If you have more than 24 students to a class room the teacher really has no way to help students that are falling behind. They are overwhelmed a better system would be night and evening classes for highschool. Preparing students for vocational and academic courses universities and tech schools. In fact you would be able to hire more teachers full time and part time to alleviate the ratio. Also make a 12 month school year but like summer classes be optional. Students interested in getting ahead would take advantage of summer school. This would allow teachers who normally have no job during summer breaks to actually have one and get paid. Also parternering up with colleges tech schools and universities would also be a good idea. Giving advanced students the option to take classes in community colleges as well for college credit etc would also put those students forward at an appropriate level and allowing students that are borderline receive more attention and instruction. Perhaps this may seem strange idea but to me highschool students need preparation for college so it would behoove us to make highschool a predatory system. With a emphasis on critical thinking.
