Had a debate with an individual who was homosexual. Claiming Israel was oppressing the Palestinian people. When I pointed out that the west Bank had been a autonomous region since 2007 and most offensive actions in that region originated from the west Bank. He started walking off screaming the conversation was becoming one sided. Actually I think they had no answer to the facts.

@FreshGreenMoss OH such an edge lord. No one sane suggest dumping toxic waste in rivers. You have begun your part of the conversation using a strawman argument. Do you recycle? Do you volunteer to pick up man made litter? Have you ever volunteered time to forestry conservation efforts? Do you support organizations and labs for energy alternatives? There are solutions but instead let's argue logical fallacies and what is. Griw up and do better edgier one.

Caught you on twitter and like your message. This song is the anthem of all "individuals". Thanks you for the message we are able to think, believe, and stand by principle. #okdude

@zh3nox The company that I drop off to sorts the plastics. I sell my aluminum to a recycling facility. That being said it is doable and still far more constructive than gluing your ass cheeks to asphalt and being a nuisance.

@TF-Times Yes it was a strawman argument. The blatant attempt to misrepresent what the original poster was saying. Making the claim that voluntary endeavors are what lead to toxic waste dumping. That is ridicules and completely disingenuous. People who volunteer to help clean up oil spills and the wild life effected. Often times it's government actions and regulations that lead to some of the worse ecological disasters. One instance is the federal and state government failing to allocate the appropriate resources to maintain infrastructure. Train derailments, tanker trucks jack knifing on the highways. I stand by what I see here. Logical fallacy employed in a weak attempt to undermine a valid point.

@TF-Times Facts are not strawman fallacies. Fact number one federal and state legislatures have for many years neglected infrastructure appropriations have been woefully inadequate. There is clear evidence that the lack of rail and road system maintenance and upgrade has lead to deterioration. Contributing to higher amounts of pollution and transport train derailment and over the road truck accidents. Rail systems in need of maintenance not maintained and pot holes that have caused accidents that are detrimental to the environment. These are facts. A strawman is an exaggeration of the othersides argument and in some instances claiming the otherside is proposing an outrageous proposition. Nice try though. My grandfather would warn you it's best to be thought a fool than opening your mouth and removing doubt.

@marlan5470 Yes I keep up with local news. I also subscribe to the positive actions I noted above. Embody what you espouse is how I was raised. Anyone can point to problems but not having solution/solutions. To act up on is mere tinkling brass. You can.crow or you can do.

@theonionpirate1076 What is it that you find worth protecting? Generational entitlement? Insipid whining of butter soft perpetual victims? Constantly offended over hurt feelings?

@TF-Times wrong strawman is a exaggeration that has no bearing in what the other argument is saying thus makes it a logical fallacy. If the statement is logically true and has meririt it would be addressing the otherside factually without exaggeration. The commentors point was having broad sweeping government control is unnecessary when most people and corporations voluntarily participate as both a public good and cost cutting measure. My point is valid the same government you would trust to implement environmental controls are the root cause of the ecological damages we currently facing. Failure to maintain needed infrastructure while demanding compliance is both ill advised and clear example of government ineptitude. One could argue the government itself is a creating a catastrophe and then performing a power grab to fix an issue that was created by their malfeasance. Which is clearly on issue and also shows that voluntary compliance in this instance more tolerable.
