Intersex is a disorder, not another sex invalidating the dichotomy of the binary of all mammalian species, and they only EVER present with male and female genitalia. Gender refers to the sex assigned at birth, and the social aspects of being male or female, respectively. Male and female are biological categories, which are fixed and permanent. TOO Many people are inappropriately conflating the variability of personality traits and temperament (Neither of which is gender exclusive-- hence effeminate males, butch females and tomboys) with gender as though they're synonymous, and they are not.
