I visited there at last Jan 2018, and proudly to say I was the first in my country who did solo backpacked to there. Back then, Harbin was not widely-known for our tourists' ears, even they didn't know where it is and the place is exist. But now in last 2019, more n more tourists from my country learn about Harbin. Many of them visit there using tours and everything are all well set up. . But I never forget what I had done back then.. I always rode public transportation to visit some places there. It was adventurous one, thought I even couldn't speak Chinese.
