  1. France at that time also tried the same thing and it turned into chaos. I believe that's what make the Framers to reject direct vote for presidency.

  2. From the video, it was clear that early on in their history it was not a winner takes all. See 10:45 debate on how the federalist and anti federalist tried to wrest the electoral votes from each other, where some compromised and some deadlocked on it.

  4. The setup at 10:45 was quite alike the setup in France at the time. 🤔 Luckily it didn't blow up into anarchy as the France did. 😅
