First you have to work hard. Without hard work, luck will just shy away from you.

@juanfran3924 You can tell that to Mike Tyson.

The astronaut example is flawed because if everyone of them have already work hard, of course the determining factor is their luck, because everyone's hard works are already canceling everyone's hard works. *facepalm Now, if you pick people at random and test them to become astronaut, you'll see that work hard is the determining factor and luck only has minuscule effects to the outcome.

@5people829 You get me there .. 🤣

In essence, without hard work, those "luck" will just shy away from you.
2
@Yayaloy9 Why don't you do it .. now?

@juanfran3924 As the video shows, luck only make huge difference between people who work equally hard. But what the video didn't show (conceal or otherwise), is that when people don't work equally hard, it's hard work that carry the day. For equally hardworking 10,000 astronaut applicants, luck play big role, because that is the only difference between them. For 300 millions American with unequal efforts, it's only the hardworkings who were qualified to be those 10,000, and the final astronauts are always hardworking people. There are no "lottery winner" among the final astronauts (except when SJWs want to make a show of putting LGBTQWHATEVER on space).

So it's your excuse to tear it down?

Do you imagine them spending their day twiddling their thumbs?

@juanfran3924 If his ancestors were having a good luck by not became slaves, he WILL be born in Sierra Leone.
1
@Yayaloy9 Why? Youtube still accept new content makers.

@juanfran3924 OK then, let me explain it to you. Mike Tyson is a descendant of a very unlucky people who got themselves captured by slavers. Even as he was born, his family line was still unlucky. Yet he became millionaire through his hard works. If his ancestors were not so unlucky, they will remain in western Africa, probably in Sierra Leone.

HollyT Which part?

@juanfran3924 Oh, so you don't have any argument except ad hominem? Fine with me.
1
@aldainhr3642 Ad hominem is only apply to the people you are talking with. Labeling a group of people you are not talking with is not ad hominem. Learn the difference.

The ancestors of today Americans were the unluckiest of their lot. And yes, that includes the blacks.

Also I suspect the charity test was conducted among students in places like UC-Berkeley, where liberal pricks are in the majority, in other word, the test samples are already biased toward a certain attitude and belief. Because if you examine tax returns of the general populace, you'll see that the most generous subset of American people are the conservatives, the ones who most likely will say their success came from their hard works.

And if your father is a lazyass, you won't get any chance at all even it you live right next door to the university. I know a lot of poor people whose children become highly educated, and none of them live near any university. You should thank your father perseverance instead of dismiss it as a mere luck. In his perseverance, he would find a way to make sure you are as highly educated as his effort can support even when no university was built near his home. You are ingrate.
