They will be surprised to know that the reason Latin is still in use in science because of the clergies of the accursed religion of Christianity preserved it.

1924 people had science fictions that told about the things we have today. Their reaction would be, "So it has been made, huh?"

And porn. Don't forget the porn.

We never stop thinking of it😅

Roman had no concept of dishonorable weapon in warfare. Everything that helped them to kill their enemy would be adopted in no time.

@GerardMenvussa American malls don't have public toilet? How about gas stations?

If you watched Patrick Kelly channel, our medicine knowledge were similar to the Roman up until late 19th century. Even when microscope was invented in 16th century, medical world still believed in the existence of humors, which was codified during Roman times.

@d-man4485 Caesar spelling in English has been corrupted. The Roman at Julius Caesar time spelled it as kae-sar. And yes, Cicero was not see-ser-o, but key-ker-o.

to add to your list: Phone and television will surprise them. Rifle and artillery will freak them. A simple lighter is a wonder for them, even when their own technology should be able to produce some themselves.

@HerzausStahl Caesar was vice emperor. The emperors use Augustus as their title.

Japan has manga called Thermae Romae. There's a scene when the Roman character freaked out about bidet.

@BRTowe My mother is 80 years old, and she watches tiktok every day. 😅

They will stage a riot against book printers. 😅

Our medical knowledge were basically the same as Roman's up until late 19th century. Before that, we believed the existence of humors, which was codified during Roman times.

@Duke_of_Lorraine Die Walküre will make them shit in their pants.
2
They had amphitheaters during their time, but they will be curious about the stadium design than can amplify the sound so loud, only to be disappointed when they see the loudspeakers, while at the same time wonder how the device works.
2
@steveleavell114 Rome was filled with smoke from firewood.
2
You mean ... like the movie Thermae Romae? You can watch Metatron discussed about the movie.
2
Tiktoker are mostly uneducated high school drop out. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
2
@davidweihe6052 It seemed the pronunciation of C as K was still widespread during middle ages that the Ottoman claimed the title Kaisar i Rum, not Sisar i Rum (whatever Sisar is🤪)

When Eisenhower proposed the building of interstate roads in the USA, he argued about military necessities of it.

Didn't they already have fables (stories of talking animals)?
1
Did they have camp followers in Roman times? I think it's medieval invention.

@Ryan-mech-muffin Modern military outfits are designed to made it easy for the soldiers to detach from their luggage if they ever fall on their back. Knight's armor weren't designed to do that. It was designed to not burden down the body while on vertical position, which modern military outfits also able to do.

@chrism7969 If you watch it until finish, you will understand why you wouldn't. It's not that you didn't want to, but the chance of success was so minuscule that you better thought of some other ways to survive the charging knight. You couldn't unhorse the knight while he was charging at you on horseback, lance pointed at you, and you didn't have a group with polearms ready. Most of the time, infantry unhorsed the knight from the back with hook or bill attached on pike (which later will transform to halberd, cmiiw).

Metatron has a video talking about historical accuracy of the movie.

If Yasuke was Nobunaga retinue, chances were he would have been killed during Mitsuhide attack. So he couldn't meet in any capacity with Blackthorne. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Георг-л5л So he went to India?

And when they hear how the French count from one to one hundred, "Dude, you took it to the extreme for no reason."

Would it be Gate jieitai kanochi nite, kaku tatakaeri or Thermae Romae?

The Japanese will speak Japanese and only Toda Mariko (that's the girl, btw) will speak English, at least that's what in the book and the previous mini series. Unless they want to cheapen the new movie by make the Japanese speak English, the Japanese will speak Japanese. As the nobility status of Toda Mariko, she was a daughter of Akechi Mitsuhide. She was a war prisoner in the court of Tokugawa (after her father subjugation) and was ordered to be translator for the stranded English sailor. BTW, both Tokugawa Ieyasu and Akechi Mitsuhide names were changed in the source novel and likely it will be too in the movie (if I remember correctly, the novel also change other Japanese names). The timeline of the story was after the death of Hashiba Hideyoshi and up to the battle of Sekigahara.
