  1. Indonesia experienced those too in one way or another, but we prosper while Haiti flounder. To make further contrast, Haiti's debt was paid in full by 1940s, while Indonesia's "freedom debt" was paid off by 1990s. Which means, Haiti had 50 years head start compared to Indonesia. If they are still poor, or to be precise, getting poorer, it's Haiti's fault, nobody else.

  4.  @1wun1  Haiti had several homegrown government and several foreign supported government. All of those were failures. They're keep failing no matter how the government was founded. It's on them, and nobody else. Pointing fingers to foreign powers is just an excuse for incompetence.

  8. It's socialism. Most if not all Sub Saharan African countries are ruled by socialism minded politicians. Even China is currently flounder when they tried to reintroduce socialism into the economy.
