  3. It's Germany fault. First they declared war to French without any valid reason other than they didn't want to fight on two fronts. Then they invaded Belgium to make sure their plan worked. It didn't, but that's another story. Of course Britain could be blamed too if for small portion of it. They use their "piece of paper" to declare war against Germany, which turned what should be a few month of war ended with France surrender (cough) and Russia knocked out, into four years of ordeal. Britain needed to pull Germany a few pegs down, but that's also another story.
