As Thomas Sowell said, "It's a bigotry of low expectation."

"When blacks weren't even allowed into schools because of their skin color, affirmative actions were needed" That is not affirmative action. It's equality of opportunity. "Maybe with a little adjustment for the bad schools that are in lower income areas" Now, that is affirmative action. And it's still wrong thing to do. As the narrator said, it will mismatch the students with the education given to them.

@stacys7924 Yes. The consolation of being able to say, "I told you" when the airplane is about to crash is not worth my life.

Sounds like a great idea! With the best of intentions! What could possibly go wrong? Wait .. this is not ReasonTV 🤣

The slope from affirmative action to outright racism is indeed very slippery. Better save than sorry. Keep yourself away from affirmative action. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's like saying racism is not the problem but how it's used. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@BrentJohn Affirmative action is by definition a discrimination (of race, religion, sex, whatnot). No matter the icing, the cake beneath is wrong. Two wrong don't make one right.

So what, if legacy students fail? They already have whole lot failure cushion (support) from their family's money. They won't suffer from their academic failure. It's different with poor black kids who got themselves set up to failure by affirmative action. Also, if you go with evil thoughts, those legacy students are subsidizing normal students. 😈

As Thomas Sowell wrote in Affirmative Action Around The World, that's what exactly happens everywhere. People of mixed race will always tick the box of the "victim" (preferred) race, even if her "victim" race is less than 1/1000 of her DNA. That's how you can become a US senator. 😤

If you "benefit" from it, you may not even heard of it. But if it hurt you, you will definitely hear of it. From my own experience, in my country (not USA) we have preference for some race in ... just about anything, in my case it's university admission. I can tell you that 50% of my fellow students from unpreferred race are better academically that 90% of the preferred race at the university I finally admitted to. Yet less than 1% of us from unpreferred race were admitted to universities we applied to. The icing of the cake? Most of students from preferred race never hear about it, while it's a widespread topic among my highschool classmates from unpreferred race during our graduation.

Ah, but Civil Rights Act put the burden of proof that somebody is not racist on the shoulder of the accused instead of the accuser. How's that for justice? That's why it is in my belief that Civil Rights Act should be revoked and replaced with New Civil Rights Act that hold government and nobody but government should be forbidden from engaging in racism. Why? Because private sector can only become racist at the peril of their wallet, while government can become racist with impunity. As Thomas Sowell said, a businessman can be an uber racist, but he can't be racist toward his customers, because money is money.

Which college did you go? Ivy leagues? That's the theme of this video.

Don't dare to quote him in his channel 😅
