Singapore election may be free of tampering, but it's full of intimidation. It is well known that PAP will use ISA laws to restrict and even invalidate opposition candidates. Without the ability of opposition to criticize PAP, what is even the purpose of them to enlist in themselves in the ballot?

@jakemontone807 In the US, since the civil rights movement (cmiiw), you can't be charged of defamation if you criticize politician. In Singapore, thanks to ISA, that is not the case. You just have to read the news where opposition figures have been charged with defamation and sedition whenever they criticized PAP. Every time.

@jakemontone807 It's not because the opposition only play to the emotion of the citizens. Even asking why something is done this way and not that way, is already ground for defamation toward government. It's easy for the one in power to choose to whom and for what the defamation is applied to. That's what ISA is all about.
