Ukraine reclaimed roughly 50% of the territory taken by Russia in 2022. I see no reason why they can't do it again. Russia is weaker than it was then. Ukraine is stronger. Taking 50% of the remaining could have them knocking on the door of Crimea.

How? There isn't an infinite number of potential buyers on this planet. They've lost their biggest markets already and it's the same with gas. That's not coming back any time soon. Those countries who do buy Russian oil are getting it cheap. Last I looked, Urals was trading at $54.

@YAMIVA Good point, but the main problem with electric cars as I see it, is the price. I would love one but I'll likely never afford one.

It's obvious and in fact no secret that Ukraine has a corruption problem. They inherited it from Russia. It's ingrained. Ukraine will likely take many years and expend an awful lot of effort before they fully purge the Russia rot, but with incentives like joining the EU and NATO, I'm confident they can do it as others have before them. How about focusing on the fact that Zelensky is having to guide his country through an existential war with terrorist Russia instead of tossing distractions at us..

@grahamstrouse1165 We'll always need cars. It would be absolutely impossible to replace cars with anything else in many large cities. Our government has been spending big for two decades on public transport. It's heavily subsidized, and for some people it's even free.. but it means having to walk or cycle (if it's even possible) for many Kms to reach the nearest train, tram or bus. And even if that's possible, travel times are 2X or 3X compared to cars. There is no way I could afford to spend 5hrs commuting 5 days/week to my work place. I'm pretty this same scenario/problem plays out in hundreds of cities. Additionally, most of our electricity generation comes from coal. That's changing. There are huge wind farms and solar being rolled out but we're talking decades before the coal generation ends. So swap and efficient ICE cars for EVs running on coal generated power? Nothing is as simple as it seems.
