  2. I've never liked the way some folk spin the issue of the so called "NATO expansion". There is no movement. NATO is not a thing that gets bigger or moves around. It's simply a defence agreement between nations who fear Russia's aggression. Russia has enjoyed lying about NATO and bashing it endlessly, but his own actions have confirmed beyond any doubt the importance of such a treaty. It's no surprise that membership is growing. But that's not the same as saying "NATO is moving east" as some would have it.

  3. We do think. All of these criticisms are easy in hindsight. Russia is a loose cannon. No one knows what it will do next. It's been like that for decades.. perhaps centuries. I can still vividly remember the 80's nuclear threat. I can still feel the euphoria of the wall falling and thinking how at last many more people will experience freedom. But Russia persists in being an unpredictable bully.
