  1. In terms of joining NATO, who knew how long it would take for Sweden to join, and Sweden is/was miles ahead of where Ukraine is now. The idea that we can have a nicely laid out path for Ukraine into NATO while at war seems rather fanciful. There's too much overly optimistic talk about this which raises false hopes along the way. The focus must stay on Ukraine winning the war. The rest might follow, though even that looks shaky at this time. It only takes one "no" vote and we already have those. I hope Ukraine joins but there are a lot of hurdles to jump before that happens.
