  1. I support Ukraine and want to see it join NATO and the EU, but talk about Ukraine being invited into NATO now while at war simply makes no sense. NATO doesn't want to fight Russia. The descision of whether to bring Ukraine into NATO now is equivalent NATO deciding to fight Russia now. NATO could put boots on the ground now. NATO could sink the Black sea fleet now. NATO could provide air superiority to Ukraine now. It could do all of this wuthout Ukraine joining NATO. But it doesn't want to. The incremental supply of weapons is in part related to all of this, but it's also due in part to countries in peace time seeing an unexpected war occur on their doorstep and not really knowing how to handle where there is a background of underfunding militaries. Even Trump pointed out the funding shortfalls. We're now paying the price.

  5. Picking a date whereby Ukraine becomes a NATO member while still at war with ruzzia is ludicrous. One of NATOs strengths is to act as a deterent. That would be destroyed when on that chosen date NATO continues to do nothing. And it would do nothing. Putin wins. Bad idea.

  6.  johnnyhjohns3817  I know, but is such a guarantee possible? I mean, stuff can be written on pieces of paper and politicians can talk a lot but none of these things provide a guarantee. We saw that play out with Sweden. They're either in or they're not. Same with Ukraine. Any such promise wouldn't be worth much right now and all of the players know it.
