  1. Electric ovens do cause problems for the grid, as do heaters and a/c. Electric car chargers potentially draw way more current than any of those.

  2. Electric cars use less fuel. Consider the hybrids i.e. an electric car with an on board generator. They use less fuel than the equivalent standard car.

  4. The point is, we're supposed to be moving away from coal and gas generation. That's when Electric cars would make more sense. Or when you can charge from rooftop solar. That's the idea. Can it be done?... i have no idea.

  6. Especially if your electricity generation is fossil fuel based. By contrast, hybrid increases fuel economy without the negatives.
