  7. ​@electrothecat07 virtualbox sucks when compared to VMWare. It just feels cheap, and it is (which is its only advantage). Virtualbox is not easier to use. It's actually harder to use.

My 30 years experience as a developer has taught me the hard way that open source stuff is too often second rate overly hyped crap. Linux desktop is exactly that. I work for a software company creating propritory software. There is nothing open source that comes close.

  10. ​@MrStevetmq Your comments about C++. It's called programming. If you're working on low level stuff or high perfornance stuff or drivers or embedded C code, or games etc., that's how it is. You're instructing the machine's hardware to do stuff in a precise way. I've been using C++ for 30 years. I have no interest in high level stuff. I develooed a chess engine from the ground up as a hobby. You need high performance... languages like C C++ rust etc.
