  2. This excellent at some level and there are valuable lessons in there, but in some sense this fails to take note of reality. We are animals (mammals) living on a planet where we are victims of the same forces that all other living things are subject to such as competition for scarce resources... the need for clothing food and shelter and defence from external threats. For instance, predatory animals, disease, weather and natural disasters. Most of us don't have the luxury of spending whatever percentage of our heartbeats doing whatever we want. We are constrained. Survival consumes most of our effort. Most of our time.

  3. I don't see it as a bellyache, but I do see his ideas as not being applicable to most people. He's projecting an ideal that isn't achievable for 99.99% of folk.

  4. What you're saying is true and it's probably harder for the younger generations than it was for mine. I'm at the tail end of the baby boomer generation (age early 60s). I worked my but off for 40 years and scrimp and save to own a modest home and a cheap car. At one point with a mortgage at 18%, I almost went bankrupt. I've never had the luxury to do what these guys can do and I'm still working.
