  2. Why is it a scam? In my stste of Australia, we're doing 70,000 tests daily with around 1200 positives with no lockdowns but 92% fully vaccinated. In 2020, for the most part we were doing 30,000 tests daily with zero positives but there were tough restrictions in place to keep infections out. These are raw data published on the web. I'm struggling to understand how or why this would be a scam?

  4. They can do sequencing but I suspect most of it is speculation at this point. So yes, they can detect differences in the variants.

  5. I haven't seen any evidence that the Australian increase is due to omicron. Less speculation please. The main drivers in Australia are state borders opening and super spreader events in NSW have seen their daily cases explode but we don't know the omicron %. Victorian daily cases have remained stable for weeks.

  6.  @ericacat4565  I like Scott Morrison so I'll ignore your slur. That said, he is correct to focus on hospitalizations and ICU numbers. In a highly vaccinated population those daily 'case' numbers are less important in 2020. And if Omicron produces milder symptoms then even less important.

  7. The vax does accomplish this and it does a very good job of it and it does it without the high risk of long covid. Check the stats. Omicron still presents risk of disease, long covid, death and the potential for new variants. The vax doesn't.

  8. What's the point of comparing to the cold? It's a different virus / disease. The only people I know who compare it to the cold are people wearing tinfoil hats, pandemic deniers, conspiracy theorists, trumpians etc.
