  1. ​@piotrc966 Maybe that's why Linux is an epic failure as a desktop OS? I mean, it's ready quite awful. I've tried Linux many times over the past 20 years, and it just doesnt work for me.

  5. Low-level stuff has been my passion since the 1970s. Back then, there were few alternatives other than BASIC. I think the first C compiler I had was late 80s.

  6. ​ @alexanderk.532 'goto' is fine in the right circumstances. I get a strange sense of pleasure using a goto, knowing that pedantic language lawyers would have a fit.

  7. I have been a Windows application developer for 30 years. I don't touch any of the web crap. As for "systems programming".. it depends on your definition. I typically think of that as being an OS developer and maybe a driver developer (which I have done, btw)
