That's what Sam thinks. It's not what I think. I think Sam has lost his mind over this the way he did over Trump.

Great comment. Yes that's exactly how it was in the 70s and 80s.

I took a month off and felt so much better. The stress was completely gone by the 3rd week. Wonderful. Retirement will give me more time to be active and less at a desk... hopefully very soon.

I had it for 2 years. A living hell. I cured it by soaking my foot in a hot tub 3 times daily. I went from crutches to walking normally in just a few weeks. The body can often heal itself given the right conditions. You took a different approach but kind of the same. The health professionals didn't have a clue.

Loneliness and being alone are not necessarily the same thing.

The hate the intro with that awful heavy drumming etc.

That describes me. I've failed at pretty much every attempt at socialising. I am now in my mid-60s. I can not make friends. I just don't relate to other people.

Not really.

Dogs are are menace. It's humans who are not doing well because of dogs. You have it backward. As for being criminaly ridiculous... speak for yourself.

Nuclear subs, but I doubt nuclear weapons. We don't even have nuclear power. And what airfields does China have in Australia? I've never heard of any.
1
That's ridiculous.

What a load of bunkum. People are losing their minds over AI. It's the Y2K bug all over again. People panicking about the world ending in 2012 etc. AI is not intelligent or conscious or sentient, it's just data processing software, albeit very cleverly designed data processing software. Computers do not have free will. They are clock driven deterministic machines. This guy is misrepresenting everything. And in case someone thinks I'm just some random guy trolling... I've been writing software since the 70s. Been a professional developer for 25 years. Have degrees in computer science + information technology (with a focus on AI and CG) and mathematics. I've developed chess engines from scratch. I've played around with neural-nets in chess engines. I'm very interested in the whole AI subject. But please, let's drop the fearmongering and the misinformation. None of this helps anyone.

Alan Turing 'invented' computer science.

Why?

Retiring doesn't necessitate glueing oneself into a rocking chair. Retiring should be about having more time to do the things that are enjoyable or spending more time with one's partner and less time stuck in traffic or stuffy offices.

I don't need coffee but I enjoy it. But no way would 6 hours do it for me. Tried it. Didn't work out. At least 7 I find.

Try getting a well paid high tech job without a degree LOL

Which video did you watch? Obviously, it's not this one. She was horrified by it. That said, she writes books... and therefore sells books.
1
Yes, but "If" is the key term here. I would wager that most people are not doing what they enjoy. I'm not. Like most people, I work for the money.
1
That's nonsense.

And your point is? Thing is with diseases, there are many contributing factors. Cigarettes and lung cancer for instance. It's not a binary.
