  3.  @radscorpion8  Maybe you can't always avoid those situations but most people should be able to avoid them most of the time. I am completely useless and uncoordinated at any type of physical activity, sport, swimming, gyms etc. Any attempt at self defense on my part is going to end badly. Years of being the bullied skinny school kid has taught me that. Avoidance has served me well and I'm sure it works well for others. School bullying aside... the only times I've ever been close to needing any form of self defense was at stupid places at stupid times with stupid people. That was 40+ years ago. No problems since.
