  1. I doubt it. I'm not so confident in human nature. There have been some absolutely awful women in leadership roles. Whether male or female (or any other gender), power corrupts and the nicest people aren't generally looking for power anyway.

  25. Not really. Ukraine is allowed to target Russia but can't do it with NATO weapons. And that level of caution by NATO is completely understandable. Here's the thing... what's the difference between... (1) Ukraine attacking Russia with NATO weapons (2) NATO forces attacking Russia with NATO weapons from within Ukrainian territory (3) NATO attacking Russia with NATO weapons from within NATO territory Answer: No difference. From the Russia perspective it would be NATO attacking Russia. NATO doesn't want to be attacking Russia or be seen to be attacking Russia. Why? Because NATO doesn't want direct confrontation with Russia. Yeah, I would love Ukraine to have free reign on weapons use or even better, have NATO roll in and drive Russia out asap. But that would likely get extremely ugly for all of us. I'm really stating the bleeding obvious, but it's lost on many.

  34. I never imagined such a thing would happen in the 22st century. I thought the world was past annexing neighbouring territories and targeting, torturing and terrorising civilians. That said, we saw Russia doing just that in Syria. Barrel bombing civilians to prop up a dictator.

Let me remind you... 500k men, 8000 tanks, 8000 artillery pieces, 30% of the Black sea fleet, 30% of russias refinaries capacity, a big chunk of pootins air defences, a giant hole in putins export revenues... would you like more?
