@nikolabakich9709 I also grew up in NZ but left around 2000, largely because of the racism... for the sake of my wife. I miss a lot of things but not the racism. Pakeha this and Maori that and on and on it goes. NZ essentially is a bicultural country with deep racial division. Other minority cultures aren't valued much, at least that's how it was when I left. Could be wrong but now it seems super woke.

That would be a nighmare and pretty silly.

This might explain why Russia invaded Ukraine but it definitely doesn't justify it. Hopefully Russia will continue to shrink or even better, completely fall apart.

Wellington is not big at all. I grew up in Napier (which is tiny). Now live in Melbourne which consists of 31 municipalities. Wellington City (excluding the Hutts) is roughly the size of one of them.

LOL

@them.m.sgamer8017 It's a troll like comment. On its face, it seemed devoid of reality. Just someone with a grudge grumbling.

Not really.

China is also lucky.

No one cares about Russia's laws except Russia and Russia's victims. Sham referenda, lies and propaganda, all of it.

The region has always been occupied by a bunch of tribal warmongers and religous fanatics. Nothing Britian did changes that.

I grew up in NZ but left in my 30's. If you enjoys the outdoors... camping, fishing, hiking, skiing etc then NZ can be great. If you enjoy small town life then ok. Neither are for me. Boring at best, depressing is more likely. Outside of Auckland, city life is pretty much non existent. And Auckland is too expensive. I've been in Melbourne for 20 years and love it, but I miss the NZ beauty and cooler climate.

When we had visitors from oversees, the first thing they'd say is where are all the people? I grew up in a small Nth Island town but would take regular trips to Auckland or Wellington just to break the boredom which can be become quite depressing.

Do we really need dreadful background music?

This is nonsensical.

... to satisfy pootin's ego.

How high are they on average? I think it's over hyped. Most Western countries are roughly the same. I pay 25% plus other taxes on top in AU, but we get better social services than the likes of the US.

Giving woman the vote in 1893 was a good and positive thing, but that was 130 years ago. It has no relevance to the 21st century and the creeping divisive woke fanaticism that seems to be pervading every facet of western life. I feel NZ is too close to the leading edge on that front.

Cultured_Anime_Waifu_3.0 500K LOL seems very unlikely.

The dark side of the earth?

Not really.

Yeah, that would be very strange.

So to summarise: Russia invaded Ukraine due to extreme levels of delusion and paranoia... and to defend itself from a defence pact. Bizzare thought. A defence pact that exists in defence of Russian agression no less. I don't buy the energy explanation. Russia already has more energy than it can sell or use.
