  4. Russia coming out strong would be a disaster for the world. Try to understand the difference between Russia and the US. Their long term goals are entirely different.

  8.  @narvuntien  You're correct in the long term but building or not building oil or gas projects is not the main driver. It's about demand. There is a base level of energy consumption that must be met by fossil fuels until renewable sources catch up and that will likely take decades. Imagine how long it will take to replace gasoline in vehicles. It will take decades for at least two reasons... it takes a long time to build them and most people can't afford them. Similar problems for power generation. We use a lot of coal because other options are not plentuful. I hate the coal but the alternative is black outs.

  10. Would those consequences be worse than a European war or even a world war? Because that's where we're heading if Russia isn't stopped without military escalation. If the flighting spreads into NATO territories or directly involves NATO military action then all bets are off.
