  1. Web programming in a sense isn't real programming. Its kind of like LEGO. It's more like gluing a whole bunch of things together, often using multiple frameworks and languages. I hate it, at least what little experience I've had was horrid. I find high level languages much harder to work with.

  2. Software development is a huge and diverse field. I could answer questions about compiler design or assembly language or C++ development or Lisp, but I'm clueless on anything related to networking or Web development or java. I wouldn't be able to do "Hello World" in html, let alone anything deeper. I see a kind of mocking of people that can't answer x or y... perhaps they know a bunch of other stuff etc.
