  2. Correct. Free software very often doesn't support freedom. The GNU license doesn't support freedom. There are a bunch of contraints on my ability to use it. And there are a bunch of other similarly restrictive licenses. But even appart from the source code issue, I don't see how I'm any more free as an individual by installing Gimp vs a propriatory paint app.
