  1. ​ @TheGreatDanish No one who is even half credible would have predicted Russia running out of cash in a year whilst still making a killing out of oil and gas. Effective sanctions only started biting six months ago. Keep it simple, but two things to keep on mind... 1) Russia's spending is massively up at a time when its income has slumped. That will bite. There's no way around it. 2) Historically, Russia tends to be more aggressive when it has surplus cash. More isolationist when not. Russia has lost half of its effective ground fighting force. The Russian government must know that in spite of its lies. It cannot afford to replace all of that soviet equipment due to cash shortages sanctions and time constraints.
