  1. You sound like a sane person. I'm not a Python developer. I use C++ 99% of the time, and I use MS Visual Studio because I love IDEs. It's a damn good option for C, C++, C# etc. Windows. That said, I took a look at RStudio and I must say it looks quite impressive.

  2. I have an extreme dislike for coding with text editors. The main reason I stay on Windows is because Linux has nothing that comes close to MS Visual Studio. Even VS Code feels primitive by comparison. Relying on terminals and text editors in 2025 is a showstopper for me. I left that archaic nonsense behind in the 1980s. It puzzles me why anyone would still use something like e.g. vim?
