  2.  @avexxed6624  It can be faster in some specific cases and if one works hard enough at it, but on balance there's not much in it. I can write faster C++ code than I can Rust code. My experience with building and testing some benchmarks... Rust takes 10X longer to code but only runs at around 90% as fast as C++. So, it's not as clear cut as people claim. In a lot of cases, the Rust and C++ compilers are using the same LLVM backend. There won't be a whole lot of difference in optimised performance, and there isn't.

  5. Rust has many selling points, but it's still a dog awful language to actually learn and use. It just is. That said, if we're comparing Rust with JS, then we're in a spot of bother because JS is also a dog awfull language.
