  2. What Peter said about Melbourne has some truth to it but testing does provide the benefit of measuring an outbreak. Peter seems to suggest that the increase in cases was due to increased testing? That's rubbish. The level of testing has fluctuated but not by anywhere enough to have positive daily cases go from 10 to 700 back to 50. That's factually false. I June we were averaging 10k tests daily with 10 positives 1:1000. In July, 24k tests daily with 400 positives 1:60. A 16 fold per capita increase. By August, ~700 deaths with only ~100 deaths for the rest of Australia. The deaths correlate with the testing. These are facts. What these guys are babbling about is opinion.

  3. Easy to say but good luck finding an effective way to protect the elderly and the obese from infection. What are you suggesting? Locking them all away from the rest of society? Masks maybe? And of course we need a vaccine. That's one of the stupidest comments I've seen in a while. I guess you going to tell us we don't need a vaccine for flu?
